Fragrance from Kitchen
On the morning of 21st October, all kids from the Delicious Kitchen Class were enthusiastic, cheerful, excited and full of anticipation because teacher Wang Juan planned to take them to the school canteen on the third floor to make yummy sushi.
First of all, Wang Juan presented the basic facts about sushi and let students understand its nutritive value.
Besides, she taught children how to select and prepare food materials. Wang Juan showcased the fundamental skills in making sushi. More noticeably, Director Yu Lihong sent the food materials to our children so that they could better prepare the dish.
The saying goes that everything must only be done then be understood profoundly. Each student used the ingredients to make their sushi by hand from laying out the sushi mat to putting sea sedge, rice as well as other ingredients in order.
Each and every one of them made sushi wholeheartedly before the finished product appeared. All plates of sushi were set on the table for students to taste. Afterwards, our children cleared away the garbage and cleaned up the school canteen.
In summary, this activity lesson enriched students’ campus life and tested their manual skills in the meantime. Therefore, our students not only tasted delicious food, but also learnt how to collaborate effectively, which benefited them a lot.
